Officials Order Level 3 Evacuation for Dry Creek and Illahee
 
A Level 3 Evacuation Notice for the the Dry Creek and Illahee areas was issued at  6 pm on August 16, 2017 by  fire officials of the North Umpqua Complex 17 and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.  Residents are urged to evacuate immediately. 
 
Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is closing Highway 138 East from Mileposts 39 to 54 for public safety.
 
Power lines in the area have been deenergized by PacifiCorp in order to alleviate further power disruption.   
 
Warmer and dryer weather conditions have led to more active fire behavior across the Umpqua North Complex today. 
 
Fire evacuations are based on the Ready, Set, Go system, with Level 1 being Ready, Level 2 is Set and Level 3 is Go. 
 
An evacuation shelter has been set up at the 7th Day Adventist Church at 19085 North Umpqua Highway, Glide, Oregon.
