Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Behind yesterday’s front, temperatures are expected to cool down slightly today and then begin a warming and drying trend Sunday through Tuesday. Winds today will be breezy for the east slopes of the Cascades, but tapering off by early afternoon. After Eclipse Day, models are wavering on a solution that favors an upper-air pattern that signals a threat of thunderstorms and lightning for eastside zones on Tues-Thurs. With the potential combination of unprecedented human and increased lightning ignitions, next week may place considerable strain on NW resources.
