Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest
Fire Information: (541) 414-4489, (541) 316-5816, and (541) 247-3680
Due to continued fire activity, the Curry County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with the Chetco Bar Incident Management Team, have raised evacuation levels for the residence in the Chetco Bar Fire area.  All Level 3 Evacuations remain in place and all previous residences above Da-Tone Rock under a Level 2 Evacuation notice are NOW under a Level 3 Evacuation notice. Click here for INTERACTIVE EVACUATION MAP

All other residents in the Brookings and Harbor area should plan ahead and be prepared for changing conditions.

A Level 3 Evacuation (GO!) means residents within this area should leave immediately. Danger to your area is current or imminent, and you should evacuate immediately. If you choose to ignore this advisement, you must understand that emergency services may not be available to assist you further. DO NOT delay leaving to gather any belongings or make efforts to protect your home.

Brookings Police Department is assisting the Curry County Sheriff’s Office with making notification to residents within the affected evacuation area. Please call the fire information lines provided above, do not call Curry County Dispatch.

Emergency Alerts:
Displaced residents may relocate to the evacuation shelter at the Brookings-Harbor High School (625 Pioneer Road, Brookings). The American Red Cross is staffing this shelter. Residents should make arrangements to move property and livestock. Caged animals and livestock can relocate to the Curry County Fairgrounds (Event Center on the Beach); contact 541-425-1821 for more information.

The Sheriff’s Office is turning away public traffic at Da-Tone Rock. Only people with proof of residence will be allowed to retrieve personal belongings for the next 24 hours in the NEW Level 3 Evacuation area. NO ENTRY except fire personnel past Gardner Ridge.

Residents in Curry County who have a landline will receive emergency notifications via that number. For residents who do not have a landline, or want to receive notifications on a cell phone need to sign up for Emergency Alerts. Curry County residents can sign up for Emergency Alerts on the Curry County website, or directly at https://member.everbridge.net/index/892807736723773#/login.

Community Meeting has been postponed until further notice.
 Red Flag Warning:
There is a Red Flag Warning through to noon on Sunday (8/20). A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create extreme fire growth potential.
