8/10/2017 Falcon Complex Update

The Umpqua National Forest received more than a dozen lightning strikes from a storm on Monday August 8, 2017, that moved through southwest Oregon. The majority of the strikes were along the flanks of the Cascades. Spotty rain accompanied the storm.

Four fires on the Tiller Ranger District are within the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness: in Whitehorse Meadows, south of Poole Creek, and in the Southern tip of the wilderness.

Northwest Interagency Incident Management Team 8 (Keith) has assumed command of the Falcon Complex on the Tiller Ranger District. The Falcon Complex is comprised of multiple fires estimated at approximately 600 acres.

Air quality from smoke is an ongoing concern.  For updated information www.airnow.gov or you local health department.
