Yesterday, cooler temperatures with about half of the region recording measurable precipitation with no precipitation in Southwest and Southcentral Oregon. Gusty winds east of the Cascades. Good overnight humidity recovery. Light initial attack yesterday with low to moderate growth on existing large fires.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The trough will finish moving through the region today with general onshore, west-northwest flow. There is a chance for morning showers and possibly morning to afternoon thunderstorms across far southern and southeastern Oregon today. A ridge will begin to build into the Northwest from the eastern Pacific, which will induce a general warming and drying trend. West-northwest winds will remain breezy into Wednesday, especially on the east slopes of the Cascades and around the Columbia River Gorge.
A thermal trough is expected to build into southwest Oregon, which will result in hotter, drier, and unstable conditions with offshore winds possible through mid-week. Overall, large fire potential will decrease, but holdovers and growth on existing large fires are expected, especially in wind favored areas and in Southwest Oregon.
