Current Activity:
Crescent Mountain Fire: Yesterday, crews worked to cool areas of heat near firelines on the east side of the fire utilizing helicopters with bucket drops near Poplar Flat. The night shift continued checking firelines, mopping up, and running pumps last night, further securing the War Creek and Poplar Flat areas. Today, crews will reinforce established firelines up Scaffold Ridge and Slate Creek. The fire is still slowly advancing in the Reynolds drainage in the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness.

McLeod Fire: Yesterday, firefighters began improving the Eightmile Road near the Honeymoon and Ruffed Grouse Campground, removing brush along the road edges to provide a more secure firebreak. This work will continue today along with scouting of locations for possible handline construction and tactical firing operations. Aerial support, including retardant drops, may be used on the ridge north of the McLeod Fire.
Doe Fire: Mop up continues with the goal of extinguishing all areas of heat on this 12-acre fire.
Evacuations: A Level 2 evacuation is in effect for the area west of Little Bridge Creek Road. Level 2 means prepare now in the event an evacuation is necessary.  No evacuations are in effect for the McLeod or Doe Fires at this time.
