This is the final written update for the Lake Spokane Fire
The Lake Spokane Fire is burning northwest of Suncrest, WA near the community of Tumtum. Large diameter fuels including logs and stumps continue burning within containment lines. Smoke from this burning vegetation may be seen in the area. Please do not report
visible smoke within the fire area.
Containment reached 100% thanks to hard work from dedicated firefighters assigned to this incident. Northwest Team 2 (NW2) is releasing resources and downsizing fire camp as objectives are completed. NW2 would like to take a moment to thank the communities
and local agencies for their support during this wildfire.
Washington Department of Natural Resources (WA DNR) assumes command of the incident July 31 at 7:00 pm. Professional firefighters will continue to patrol and monitor the perimeter, ensuring the fire remains within established lines.
Closures and Evacuations:
Please use extreme caution in the burned area. Watch for fire hazards such as damaged trees and ash pits. Also drive cautiously as fire crews and apparatus remain in the fire area. Stevens County Emergency Management will announce evacuation level changes for
