Cool and dry yesterday with windy to breezy conditions east of the Cascades. No significant precipitation and a few lightning strikes in far NE Washington. Light initial attack with the Elmer City fire reported at 2,000 acres on the Colville Agency. NW Team 7 (Knerr) assuming command on the Rock Creek fire.

Rock Creek WA-OWF-000495. IMT2 NW Team 7 (Knerr). 12 miles NW Naches, WA. Start 9/10. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 904 acres (+300). Timber. 10% containment. Active fire behavior with isolated runs, torching and short-range spotting. Evacuation notices, road, trail and area closures in effect. Transfer of Command to NW Team 7 (Knerr) at 0600 today.
Old Lady Creek WA-SPD-000497. 21 miles E of Goldendale, WA. Start 9/10. Full Suppression. Cause: Human. 1,300 acres (+0). 100% containment. Grass and Brush. Limited Information. Last report unless significant activity occurs.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Windy conditions in Southern Oregon and east of the Cascades today. A warm and dry late summer pattern will prevail across the region through much of the remainder of the week with cool mornings. Significant fire potential remains at normal levels through this week with no lightning ignition triggers.
