Northwest Activity Summary
Mild temperatures with gusty winds in Washington and Northern Oregon. Moderate precipitation in Western and Northern Washington. Moderate initial attack in Eastern Washington and light elsewhere. Some growth reported on the Abney Fire in the Miller Complex. Around 650 acres of prescribed burning reported yesterday with no planned prescribed burns. Continued commitment of Northwest resources to California.

Miller Complex OR-RSF-000647. IMT2, NW Team 6 (Sheldon). 20 miles west of Ashland, OR. Start 8/14. Monitor/Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 39,548 acres (+138) 86% containment. Timber. Moderate fire behavior. Road, trail and area closures. Includes the Abney (32,688 acres). Remaining fires within complex are contained and/or in monitor status.
Chetco Bar OR-RSF-000326. IMT4. 16 miles W of Selma, OR. Start 7/12. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 191,121 acres (+0). 97% containment. Timber. Minimal fire behavior. Road, trail, and area closures in place. Transfer of command to ICT4 occurred at 0700 today.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
A moist warm front will move into the region today and bring moderate precipitation to the northwest two thirds of the region. Thursday, strong winds and precipitation will cover the entire region. A cold front will follow on Friday for showery weather, gusty winds and cooler temperatures that will last through the weekend. A return to warmer temperatures and drier conditions is expected next week.
