Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Lightning will ease off on Saturday as a drier and more stable airmass returns to the region. However, the respite will be temporary because another lightning pattern will begin on Sunday and linger for several days afterward. The lightning early next week appears to be more of a threat west of the Cascades. General winds will be declining for the next several days over most of the region but with some exceptions. Check your local NWS fire weather forecast for general wind details. Expect a warming trend as the general winds decline.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger remains quite high for most areas. Holdover fires from recent lightning strikes will continue to flareup with the warming trend over the next few days. Fortunately, general winds appear to be not much of a factor for growth of holdover fires in most areas through the weekend. New lightning strikes on the west side beginning Sunday will pose an elevated risk of large fires in the early part of the new week.
