Northwest Fire Weather Summary
A cooling trend is underway for the region following Thursday’s dry cold front. Expect gradually lowering temperatures through the weekend for most of the geographic area. Clouds and a few sprinkles are possible over Western Washington and Northwest Oregon at times but significant accumulation of rain is not likely. Westerly general winds will persist east of the Cascades.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
A steady reduction in fire danger is coming due to the region-wide cooling trend. This will moderate the risk of large costly fires despite increased westerly winds east of the Cascades. Increased winds will have the effect of dissipating smoke. Lightning is not expected to be much of a factor for the time being.
