Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Dry weather with generally light and variable wind will continue through the weekend under upper level high pressure. Easterly winds should pick up again, particularly in southwest Oregon, going into the weekend as a thermal trough redevelops at the surface. Cooler weather with a good chance for widespread precipitation is anticipated by the middle of next week. Check local NWS fire weather planning forecasts for details in your area.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Low relative humidity and occasionally gusty east winds will keep fire danger slightly elevated over PSAs in the Cascades and on the west side but few new ignitions are anticipated. The potential for new significant fires will remain low. Units with planned or ongoing prescribed fires should be aware of the potential for gusty east winds Friday afternoon into Saturday.
