Widely scattered precipitation across the region with heavy rains tracking over central and Southeastern Oregon. Light amounts of lightning strikes in Southeastern Oregon were recorded. No initial attack was reported and no growth occurred on existing large fires.

Klondike. OR-RSF-000354. IMT2, NW Team 12 (Harrod). 9 mi NW of Selma, OR. Start 7/15. Full Suppression. Cause: Lightning. 167,033 acres (+0). 72% containment. Minimal fire behavior. Timber. Evacuation notices. Road, trail and area closures.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary

Most of the region will be between weather systems on Thursday with cool temperatures and higher humidity continuing. Westerly general winds will rise a bit again east of the Cascades during the day but not to strong levels. A wetter frontal system will arrive Friday. Check local forecasts for details in your area.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

The potential for large fire initiation over the region is minimal on Thursday. The only slight risk area for fire activity appears to be in the Columbia Basin due to winds in rangeland fuels.
