Upper level high pressure remains in the area today, which will keep the weather similar to the last few days with light general winds and warm temperatures. A change to the weather pattern comes tomorrow as a weakening frontal system approaches the coast. Cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and precipitation west of the Cascades is expected tomorrow afternoon. A stronger system should cross the area Thursday, bringing more widespread precipitation.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
While fire danger indices are slightly elevated due to a long stretch of dry, warm weather, the combination of weather and fire danger will keep the risk for new significant fires low through the week.
