Anglin Fire – Yesterday, firefighters completed most of the rehabilitation work and mop up operations around the fire. Repairing areas effected by suppression efforts is an important function and crews do their best to make the landscape look as good as they can before leaving the area. Today, crews will be patrolling the line and removing any remaining equipment and litter. Demobilization of resources will continue, and crews will travel back to their home unit or another assignment. The Anglin fire is 90% contained. The fire is now listed at 1992 acres (increase in acreage due to more accurate mapping).
Green Fire –All evacuation levels have been lifted. The Green fire is 100% contained at 1480 acres. Both fires started on the afternoon of July 27, 2020 and quickly spread due to high temperatures, winds and low relative humidity. Firefighters from Okanogan County, Washington State Department of Natural Resources and numerous federal, state and local agencies responded to these fast-moving fires.
Blue Lake One Fire – Yesterday, crews continued mop and rehabilitation work on the fire. Today, firefighters will be back on the line patrolling the perimeter and cleaning up any remaining litter and equipment. The fire is now 90% contained at 79 acres (increase in acreage due to more accurate mapping). The Blue Lake One fire started July 30, 2020 and is located 8 miles north of Concunully, WA. Firefighters from Okanogan County and Washington State Dept of Natural Resources responded along with firefighters that were assigned to the Anglin fire.
Hot and dry conditions will continue across the region. The weekend remains dry, while a chance of showers and thunderstorms moves in with the next system for Monday afternoon.
