Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
Potential for new large fires will decrease over the Columbia Basin and in central Oregon (PSA NW05, NW10, NW06) as winds drop off a bit and relative humidity rises. There may be a few lightning strikes along the Canadian border on Friday due to a passing weather disturbance. Another disturbance moving into Oregon on Sunday will provide some lightning starts over central and northeastern Oregon. This will boost initial attack activity and the risk for new large fires.
