Suppression on these fires is an interagency effort, including Chelan County Fire Districts 1, 3, 8 and 9; Washington DNR; Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, and the Bureau of Land Management.
Yesterday
The Incident Command Post (ICP) has moved from Entiat to the Leavenworth Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth, Washington.
Chiwaukum Creek Fire: The southern perimeter of the Chiwaukum fire is located approximately 6 miles northwest of Leavenworth, and is north of Icicle Ridge. On the northern perimeter, the fire has burned into Thompson Creek. Dozers and hand crews constructed line on the northeast flank of the fire, north of Thompson Creek. Structure protection continued along the highway.
Mills Canyon: Very little heat and smoke remains in Mills Canyon. Crews continued to extinguish heat along the perimeter. Efforts are focusing on rehabilitating dozer lines and mitigating other impacts of the fire suppression effort. Firefighters assisted the local fire district with an initial attack in the Mills Canyon area.
Kelly Mountain: Firefighters continued to make progress on constructing fireline. The fire did not grow yesterday.

Chiwaukum Creek Fire: The southern perimeter is being scouted for containment strategy. On the northern perimeter, the plan is to burn out from the northwest down to the highway, using the line constructed yesterday north of Thompson Creek. Three structure protection groups will continue to work along the highway. Night operations are being increased.
Mills Canyon Fire: Resources on the fire are continuing to be adjusted and reallocated to other fires. Firefighters will continue rehabilitating dozer lines and mitigating other impacts of the fire suppression effort. Firefighters will hold and patrol all areas on the Mills Canyon fire.
Kelly Mountain Fire: Firefighters who have been on this fire for several days will be pulled out for rest and because of predicted weather. The fire has not grown since yesterday. We are continuing to evaluate opportunities for control.
Duncan Fire: Efforts continue on structure protection. We are continuing to evaluate appropriate suppression action. Within the next few days work will begin on a shaded fuel break tied in to the Shady Pass Road. This will form a contingency area where firefighters can work if the fire moves toward the river and the structures.
