Continued precipitation over the week provided heavy to moderate coverage along the coastal ranges and moderate to light coverage east of the Cascades. Cloudy conditions with average temperatures set the trend for the week. Initial attack activities were light.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Showers will diminish through the day today with showers ending for most of the region by this afternoon. The dry spell will be short lived, as another Pacific system will start bringing more precipitation from west to east starting mid-day Saturday. Periodic precipitation with embedded wet thunderstorms will be with us into next week. No critical combinations of low humidity and strong wind are anticipated.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Significant fire potential will will drop this week due to the onset of moisture and cooler conditions. Possibly a few starts from lightning but limited growth potential due to lowering indices.
