Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Showers continue around the region today into Friday, with diminishing coverage becoming restricted to higher elevations by Friday afternoon. The heavier accumulations today are expected in the Blue Mountains and along the eastern edge of Washington and Oregon. There is a slight chance isolated thunderstorms accompany the east side showers. Westerly winds will be breezy to windy east of the Cascades this afternoon/evening, particularly through the Columbia Gorge and Kittitas Valley. The weather models agree Saturday into Sunday will be dry, as high pressure builds over the region, but diverge on the timing and impact of the next approaching system. Another round of precipitation could start Sunday afternoon or on Memorial Day with dry conditions returning region-wide by mid-week. Check NWS forecasts for details in your locality.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
