Central Oregon Afternoon Fire Update
           
Central Oregon – Throughout the day firefighters engaged on fires in Central Oregon following the eventful lightning activity of yesterday.  Additional resources came from outside the area to assist with approximately 60 fires in the Central Oregon area.

This table lists the status of the most active fires.  Other fires in the area remain small or have been contained.

Local Type III team is managing the fire. Due to steep terrain crews are taking an indirect approach to the fire to provide for fire fighter safety.  Allen Springs and Pioneer Ford campgrounds are closed. FS Road 1235 is closed and FS Road 14 is closed at Pioneer Ford campground.

Initial attack resources will continue to respond to reports of new fires as well as patrol areas for new starts from the lightning.
