Northwest Fire Potential Summary:
We will remain in a lightning pattern through Friday before the pattern changes to a drier and more stable westerly flow. Today and Thursday’s convection seems to favor the Cascades and central portions of the region while farther east the airmass may be a little drier. Coverage on Friday should be more widespread but will also be accompanied by more showers lowering the IA potential and large fire risk. However, Friday is also expected to be quite windy east of the Cascades which could help increase spread potential on existing or new fires.
