Carpenter Road Fire Update
Fire managers worked overnight to assess the significant growth that occurred to the northeast yesterday afternoon. Structure protection crews continue to provide point protection for structures that were evacuated to the north of the fire. Today, firefighters will continue to assess and locate areas to start construction of new containment lines. Aircraft will assist as conditions allow.Crews on the south portion of the fire did excellent work with burn out and containment line operations with the assistance of aircraft. Firefighters will focus on maintaining the established control lines in this portion of the fire today. The western portion of the fire remains quiet and firefighters will be patrolling throughout the day.
The Carpenter Road Fire is 55,886 acres and 25% contained. Containment is being evaluated based on new growth.
