Northwest Geographic Area increasing to Preparedness Level (PL) 5 on August 13th at 0001

Preparedness Level 5 is initiated when:

·        There are14 active large fires and/or equivalent all-risk incidents.

·        A full commitment of northwest fire suppression resources is considered imminent, and multiple Geographic Area Coordination Centers (GACCs) are competing for limited National resources.
