Sheridan OR-DEF-000501. IMT3. 13 miles N of LaPine, OR. Start 8/17. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 300 acres. 10% containment. Timber. Active fire behavior with crowning, spotting and torching. Evacuation notices in effect. An IMT3 will assume command today at 0800.

Rail OR-WWF-000582. IMT2. NW Team 6 (Sheldon). 5 miles W of Unity, OR. Start 7/31. Full Suppression. Cause: Unknown. 23,776 acres (+2,176). 20% containment. Timber. Active fire behavior with uphill spread, wind-driven runs and crowning. The fire has burned into the Monument Mountain Wilderness. Road, trail and area closures in effect. Continue direct and indirect line construction, secure containment lines and burn out as conditions allow.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Hot and dry west of the Cascades. A dry cold front will bring breezy to windy conditions for Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon. Windy conditions are expected in the Okanogan Valley and in the Columbia Basin. Significant fire potential is elevated in most areas.
