Power outage in Republic may be limiting updates on the Ferry County Sheriff's / 911 Face book pagehttps://www.facebook.com/pages/Ferry-County-Sheriffs-Office-911/339957886082797.
Evacuees can use the 6-P checklist – People, Pets, Prescriptions, Papers, Pictures and Personal Computers – to assist with their preparations to leave.
Deer-Boulder County Road 602 is closed do fire activity. Southern alternate of State HWY 20 recommended.
Strong gusty winds associated with an unstable cold front pushed through the area last night and contributed to the growth of this fire. The fire is growing to the north and has crossed Boulder Deer Road (County Rd. 602). Crews continue to engage the fire on the west and northwest flank due to better access. Firefighters still face the combination of dense standing and down fuels, unstable weather patterns, difficult access, rugged terrain, and no viable escape routes and safety zones except on the west and northwest flank.
Full suppression objectives are still in place while providing for firefighter and public safety first.
Residents and visitors can anticipate a highly visible smoke column from the fire and residual smoke in the area from fires to the south, west and north. Crews attacked numerous new fires in the area last night. There are multiple new fires through the area. Poor visibility is limiting aircraft ability to spot and map new fires.
Existing aviation resources are being prioritized to defend homes on fires throughout the region.
