The
Level 1 evacuation notice has been lifted for the Cable Crossing Fire for
residents between the Peel Store and the Wolf Creek Trailhead on Little River
Road. The evacuation notice has also been lifted along highway 138, in the
vicinity of Evergreen Lane to Honey Creek Road.
In
addition, residents are invited to stop by Glide Fire Department on Wednesday
evening between 7-8 p.m. to visit with firefighters in an open house format.
Volunteers from the Red Cross will be on hand to hand out cold drinks, snacks
and emergency preparedness information.
The
fire area and forest roads remain closed to the public. Highway 138 remains
open with the aid of flaggers.
The
cooler weather of the last few days allowed firefighters to gain momentum
through mop up operations. Due to better mapping, the fire is now known to be
at 1,800 acres and 40 percent contained.
The
Fire Team and Douglas Forest Protective Association extend thanks and
appreciation to Glide residents for their support and cooperation throughout
this event.
