Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Sunny and dry weather will result in a rise in fire danger for most of the region Wednesday and Thursday. In addition, easterly winds over the Cascades are expected to help dry fuels out. However, fire danger indices are not high enough to warrant much threat of new large fires or flareups for ongoing fires this week.

On Friday a cold front will move into the region which will reverse the drying trend and significantly boost winds east of the Cascades. This will begin a cooler and wetter spell which looks like it will last through the first week of October. Fire danger will likely drop much further.
