Northwest Fire Weather Summary
It will be dry across the region today and tomorrow with seasonable temperatures under zonal upper level flow. Winds will be light. Wednesday afternoon brings a chance for light showers to Western Washington, with more widespread showers following late Thursday and Friday. Dry, gusty offshore low level winds will develop over the Coastal Range in southern Oregon under the influence of a surface thermal trough that will set up each night from Monday through Wednesday, but the winds are not expected to be strong.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The potential for new significant fires will stay generally low across the region as fire danger indices have dropped to normal levels for mid-September and no critical fire weather on the horizon. Southwest Oregon (PSA NW04) and southeast Oregon (PSA NW12), having seen little precipitation, and should continue to have the highest fire danger in the region, but the risk for new, costly fires will remain at or below normal levels.
