Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Expect little change in the weather over the geographic area today as high pressure slowly begins to weaken. Temperatures will remain generally on the warm side and humidity generally low. On Saturday an upper level weather system moving in from the Pacific will cause a change as showers and a few wet thundershowers develop over Oregon and sections of Washington. This will bring on cooler conditions for Sunday and the first part of the new week. General winds are expected to be light today but will begin to increase from the southwest tomorrow east of the Cascades in Oregon.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Expect little change in fire potential today from that seen yesterday. Fire danger remains elevated in a number of PSAs, particularly Southwest Oregon (NW03 and NW04). Fire danger will begin falling late today and tomorrow as weather changes move in. A few fire starts may be possible over sections of Oregon from the lightning. Fire danger will fall further on Sunday and Monday as cooler, moister conditions settle across the area.
