Northwest Activity Summary
Cooler than average temperatures and precipitation were observed in the region. Heaviest rain fell west of the Cascades and along the Canadian border. The southwest portion of the region remained relatively dry with little to no precipitation recorded. East of the Cascades light rain was recorded at higher elevations accompanied by a few lightning strikes. Fire growth on existing large fires and initial attack activity remained light.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Expect a few showers mainly western Washington and northwest Oregon on Friday. Conditions will continue to be cooler than typical through the weekend with more widespread rain moving in Saturday night and Sunday as another frontal system passes by. Isolated wet thunderstorms are possible at various times around the region so check local NWS fire weather planning forecasts for details.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger continues to decline due to cooler and moister weather over the region. Critical combinations of wind, low humidity and dry fuels are not likely. A few lightning starts are possible from passing thundershowers but conditions are not ripe for growth from lightning ignitions.
