The management of the West Fork Fire was transferred back to the Malheur National Forest at 6 a.m. today.
At
present the fire poses no immediate threat but as seasonal weather
returns and unburned fuels between the fire and the containment lines
dry the fire will need to be monitored closely.
A primary objective is to keep the fire from spreading north onto private land.
A
closure is in effect for Forest Road 2150 from the junction with Forest
Road 2150-070 west to the Aldrich Lookout. This is to protect the
public and firefighters.
