Blue Creek WA-SES-000653. IMT2. WA Team 1 (Ciraulo/Jennings). 10 miles E of Walla Walla, WA. Start 7/20. Full Suppression. Timber, grass. Cause: Unknown. 6,004 acres (+0). 85% containment. Moderate fire behavior with creeping, smoldering and torching. Structures lost and threatened. Evacuations and road closures in effect. City of Walla Walla Watershed and Blue Wood Ski area threatened. Tentative transfer of command to IMT3 on 7/31.
North Boulder 2 WA-COF-000867. IMT2. WA Team 2 (Rabe). 3 miles SW of Orient, WA. Start 7/20. Full Suppression. Timber. Cause: Lightning. 200 acres (+8). 32% containment. Steep terrain and heavy fuels. Mimimal fire behavior with creeping, flanking and torching. Timber resources threatened.
Wolverine WA-OWF-000287. ICT4. 3 miles NW of Lucerne, WA. Start 6/29. Monitor. Timber. Cause: Lightning. 800 acres. +444 acres since previous report on 7/23 (acres growth not tallied above). 0% containment. Additional resource commitments to address moderate increase in fire behavior. Previously reported on morning briefing. Not tallied as a new large fire.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary:
Hot, dry, and unstable conditions persist through the end of the week across much of the region. A thermal trough remains near the Oregon coast before moving further inland towards the end of the week and into the weekend. Lightning returns as early as Friday to southern Oregon with increasing chances of lightning over the weekend and into next week across southern, central, and eastern Oregon.
