Northwest Fire Potential Summary:
An upper ridge will cover much of the region today. Expect sunny and dry weather inland although some cumulus clouds and a risk of isolated thunderstorms are possible over the Okanagan region by afternoon. General winds will shift to westerly and increase through the Columbia River Gorge this afternoon and also along the east slopes of the Cascades mainly in PSA NW05. The ridging pattern will begin to shift east on Monday as a cooling trend begins which will reduce fire danger through much of the new week. Large fire potential looks minimal.
