Northwest Fire Potential Summary:

Heavy IA is likely both today and again on Friday due to lightning. The primary focus for most of the lightning today should be in eastern Oregon while on Friday activity should expand northward into Washington. The best bet for new large fires will likely be in NW06 today and NW06, NW05 and NW08 on Friday.

A general cooling along with moistening of fuels is expected over the weekend with ERC values getting back down to more normal levels for this time of year. The cooler weather is expected to last at least through next week.
