Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Sunny and dry for the majority of the geographic area again today. Gusty offshore flow this morning in southwestern Oregon associated with a thermal trough will gradually diminish through the day. Gusty northerly winds will also be a concern this morning through Washington’s Okanogan Valley, also weakening through the day. Otherwise, light general winds will prevail for most of the region. Temperature and humidity will remain near seasonal normal. Models are not in agreement, but are indicating a slight chance for thunderstorm activity Wednesday afternoon across southern and eastern Oregon, but confidence in this forecast is low. Check local NWS fire weather planning forecasts for weather details.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices remain near to above normal across much of the region, but without lightning or consistent strong winds across the landscape the potential for new significant fires remains average for this time of year. However, continued active burning is possible where winds and terrain align mainly in southwest Oregon and north central Washington. Longer range outlooks suggest burning conditions may drop below average later next week.
