Northwest Activity Summary
Temperatures and humidities remained seasonable with gusty afternoon winds. Precipitation and lightning was minimal with Northeast Oregon seeing trace amounts of precipitation and a few lightning strikes. Initial attack activity remained light, largest new start was reported at 15 acres. Klondike continued to grow adding 3,097 acres.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
Except for coastal areas, today will be warm and mostly dry across the region. Westerly general winds will be light with some gusts through mountain gaps. A series of weather systems will bring cooler marine air and rain at times tomorrow evening through the middle of next week. Precipitation will be concentrated mainly in western Washington and northwestern Oregon with more limited showers east of the Cascades. Check local NWS fire weather planning forecasts for weather details.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
The risk for development of new significant fires remains near normal levels for the beginning of September. Active burning on existing fires is likely again today and Friday. With the cooling trend beginning with the marine push late Friday. The significant fire risk will gradually decrease through at least the middle of next week.
