No fire growth occurred yesterday or overnight. No
growth is expected today; however,abnormally hot and dry conditions will return and thunderstorms are predicted
for Friday afternoon and evening.
Firefighters have completed containment lines around the entire fire perimeter. Today, fire lines will be strengthened and equipment will be removed from the fire line and
spike camps that were established. Release of resources will take place at the end of the day today and will be
completed Friday morning. One strike team of engines and one 20-person crew will remain for the next few days to patrol the fire, supervised by the local agency.
Three minor
injuries and one medical issue have occurred to date on this incident. All were treated and the firefighters returned to the line.
Travelers
are
advised to drive
defensively on Hwy 21 due to heavy volume of recreational traffic and emergency vehicles. One lane traffic controlled by flaggers will be experienced at an oil spill
recovery site between Keller and the fire with an anticipated 20-minute wait time.
