Northwest Fire Potential Summary:

Lightning will continue to create moderate to heavy initial attack activity but mainly shifting into Washington today. Lightning over Oregon has become quite wet so the optimum combination of fire danger and lightning ignitions is further north in PSAs NW05 and NW08 in central Washington. Increasing westerly winds are also likely over sections of central Oregon and central Washington as a cooling trend begins. Showers and wet thundershowers are likely across much of the region on Saturday as a major weather change sweeps over the region. This cooling trend will reduce fire danger through the following week and possibly well afterwards.
