Northwest Fire Potential Summary:

A ridge of high pressure aloft is reaching maximum strength today. This means generally clear and dry conditions on both sides of the Cascades and light general winds. Potential for new large fires remains low due to the absence of critical weather and diminished fire danger indices. On Sunday the upper ridge will weaken and a cold front will push across the Washington Cascades. This will briefly boost fire potential over the Columbia Basin for Sunday.
