Transition to Type 3
Team: The
Type 2 Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team 4
(ORIIMT4) will transfer management of the fire to the South Central Oregon
Fire Management Partnership (SCOFMP) Type 3
team
with an inbriefing today.
The
incident command post will move to the Broken Arrow Campground on State Highway 230, near Diamond Lake Road.
Transfer to a Type 3
team
is occurring because the fire is entering a
less
complicated phase, due to excellent work on the part of firefighters and fire managers to improve
containment lines, mopup and rehab.
SCOFMP will continue working on containment lines, mopping up and rehabbing. There is likely to continue to be smoke coming from the interior of the fire.
Current fire containment is 65 percent.
Yesterday’s Activities: Firefighters were able to complete the rehab along the western
flanks. A specialized
fire crew was able to begin work on the southern flank of the fire using minimal impact suppression tactics (MIST) to tie in the southwest corner of
the fire along national Creek to the Oasis Creek Trail.
Today’s Activities: Plans are to complete the mopup and rehab
work along the
western flank of the fire. The crew that is deployed on the southern flank will continue their work
moving east.
Weather: Sunny with a high temperature of 76 and a minimum relative humidity of 27%. Winds will be SW at 10-15 mph.
