Northwest Activity Summary

Over the past week, a gradual warming trend built up over most of Washington bringing some high temperatures west of the Cascades. Moisture levels were reduced this week, but some coverage continued over Oregon and southern Washington. Some increase in prescribed fire occurred.  While Initial attack activity remained light overall, southwest Washington saw an increase in activity with 37 new incidents reported.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary

A cold front will move across the Pacific Northwest today bringing seasonable temperatures and precipitation today through Saturday to most of the region.  After a drier Sunday, an active weather pattern is expected through next week as an upper level trough sets up off the coast sending impulses across the region, each with more showery activity.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

The cool, wet weather will keep fire danger indices too low to support naturally ignited wildfires. As always, check local NWS planning forecasts or request spot forecasts to verify daily prescription parameters before conducting burns.
