Northwest Activity Summary

Steady concentrations of precipitation tracked across the region from southwest to northeast at heavy to moderate levels producing a gloomy overcast week with fleeting traces of sunshine. Light to moderate levels of precipitation occurred in the northwest and southeast. Mountainous regions are still accumulating snow. Winds over the region were on the light side and temperatures remained average. Light levels of lightning occurred across the Region. Prescribed fire activity was limited to pile burns and initial attack was light.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary

Frontal systems will continue to traverse the geographic area at intervals for the next five to seven days bringing additional accumulation of rain and snow to the west side and higher elevations east side. Lower elevations in central Oregon and central Washington will see less accumulation of rain this week, if any.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

Due to recent wet weather, fire danger indices remain too low for threat of wildfires. Units should request and review NWS spot weather forecasts during prescribed fire operations if wind is a concern.
