Northwest Fire Weather Summary

Dry and stable weather is expected over the region Sunday and Monday. Temperatures are a bit warmer than typical with humidity a bit lower than usual. General winds are near normal for the time being with little risk of significant lightning. Increasing general winds on Tuesday and Wednesday are expected over sections of Central Washington and Central Oregon.

Northwest Fire Potential Summary

Without risk of significant lightning, fire potential will remain at background levels through Monday. Fire danger indices will hold steady over most of the west side and gradually continue to climb on the east side and over Southwest Oregon. Increasing winds over Central Washington and Central Oregon will boost the risk of fast moving, human-caused fires in rangeland fuels on Tuesday and Wednesday. Longer range outlooks suggest decreasing fire danger next weekend as a cooling trend sets in.
