Northwest Activity Summary
Over the week widespread precipitation occurred with all areas receiving wetting to heavy rains. Mid-week scattered cloud cover and a break in precipitation occurred with high winds in the Columbia Basin. Upper elevation Snotel stations recorded increases in snow in all mountain ranges. Prescribed burning continued as conditions allowed with heavy fuels. Initial attack activity was light.

Northwest Fire Weather Summary
A series of storms will cross the Pacific Northwest today through the middle of next week. The systems will bring rain and mountain snow along with high winds at times, especially along the coast and in the basins east of the Cascades. Consult NWS wind advisories for location and timing details. After some precipitation today, Saturday should be dry before the next system comes in Saturday night/Sunday.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
With more precipitation coming to the region, the potential for new significant fires will remain minimal. Periods of high winds could elevate the risk for prescribed fire escapes, so units conducting burns should request and review spot forecasts carefully.
