Northwest Fire Weather Summary
The pattern of periodic rain showers will persist region-wide at least until mid-week. After that, numerical weather prediction models diverge, with some models favoring a warming trend for the latter part of next week, but others continuing the cool, wet weather. Breezy westerly winds will pick up through the Columbia Gorge today, but drop back down by tomorrow morning. Sunday could bring some more wet thunderstorms to the region.
Northwest Fire Potential Summary
Fire danger indices have dropped to more seasonable levels due to the extended period of cool, moist weather. As such, the risk for significant fires will remain low through the next week. Erratic winds around passing storms systems could impact prescribed burning operations, so units should review spot forecasts for potential issues.
