Fire Situation: The Haven Lake fire has now been completely trailed with a combination of direct and indirect fire line. Fire behavior continues to be limited to smoldering with minimal fire spread.
The Fireline explosive crews were successful in their blasting operations yesterday afternoon working along the northwest flank, the steepest and most inaccessible portion of the fire. Firefighters continue conducting mop-up operations on much of the perimeter with varying mop-up standards throughout the fire. In addition, firefighting personnel are assisting local resources with initial attack responsibilities.
Dry conditions and warming temperatures return to Western Washington for the remainder of the week. As the weather warms and dries, fire danger increases. The public is urged to check with fire agencies for local restrictions, forest and state closures.
The Nevada Type 3 Team will be shadowing the Washington Interagency Incident Management Team 2 and the transfer of command will take place tomorrow at 6:00 a.m.
