Summary: A very small section of control line remains and is expected to be completed today. Chippers and Excavators will be working on repair and rehabilitation in various areas around the fire.
Smokes in the interior will continue to appear with small runs possible if conditions allow. With cooler weather expected for the rest of the week, little fire growth is anticipated.
If temperatures because warmer and drier, the fire may remain somewhat active. This will continue until a season ending snow or rain event occurs.
Today is the final day that the Bald Sisters Fire will be managed by the National Incident Management Organization (NIMO) and the Southwest Area Incident Management Team #3 (SWIMT#3).
The Oregon Interagency Incident Management Team #2, who is currently managing the South Fork Fire, will be assuming control of the Bald Sisters Fire beginning tomorrow, August 21 at 6 a.m.
Our NIMO and SWIMT#3 would like to thank the local community and business members for your patience and support while managing the Bald Sisters Fire.
