Continued good work by crews and heavy equipment
Summary: The masticators and feller bunchers finished
their work on the control line to the north side of the fire. Chipping and
repair work on the east and southeast sides of the fire were carried out
throughout the day. Chipping and repair work on the south control line along
Forest Road 13 is about 60% complete.
The fire
area received .07 inches of rain yesterday. Fire behavior was very minimal with
a few heavy logs and stumps causing light smoke.
The south
control line will receive a second chipper and hand crews today to speed up the
production with chipping and repair work, and about one mile of chipping and
repair work to do on the west side. The greatest amount of chipping and repair
work remaining is on the north control line.
Hot and
dry weather is in the forecast again, with an increase in wind speeds on the
fire area.
The
Cooperator’s Conference Call’s have been suspended until further notice, and
will be reinitiated if needed.
