Northwest Weather Highlights / Fire Potential:
An upper trough over SE Oregon this morning will move slowly eastward by later tonight. It will likely result in another day of scattered lightning with most of the activity in Eastern Oregon. Then high pressure will build in for a couple of days with a dry and stable airmass. A weak thermal trough will build northward into SW Oregon Tuesday drifting more toward Central Oregon by Wednesday. This will elevate the burning conditions a bit in the South Oregon Cascades on Tuesday. The next trough and associated cold front could spread some rain into the region by the end of the week.
