The Somers Fire, located 15 miles east of Imnaha, has been mapped at 27,374 acres and is 45 percent contained. Cost to date is $2,050,000.
The 5 Mile Fire, located one mile south of Imnaha, has been mapped at 4,524 acres and is 95 percent contained. Cost to date is $4,080,000.
Today's cooler weather and higher humidity moderated fire behavior and no perimeter growth occurred. This is expected to continue, according to computer models that have shown that more than ¼ inch of rain in the local fire areas will moderate fire behavior for four days.
Recreationists in the area are reminded of closure at Hat Point Road and that no camping is allowed on the Oregon side of the Snake River. In addition, visitors should be cautious of fire traffic in the area.
